Stephanie Hodge

STEPHANIE HODGE

As one of the original instructors at Toronto Dance Industry, Stephanie has directed and produced many award-winning students in the Jazz and Tap disciplines. Her students continue to receive High Score, Overall Achievement and Top Performance Awards in both Canada and the United States. Stephanie herself continues to receive many choreography awards, and has been honored with the Diamond Choreography Award by American Dance Awards.  Stephanie is continuously recognized for her outstanding instruction in 'tap technique' and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her expertise as an adjudicator each competition season.
Stephanie is very much in demand as a guest teacher and continues to share her dance experience within the Toronto area in numerous schools and clubs on a regular basis. Stephanie has traveled as far as Las Vegas, Nevada in her endeavors as a guest teacher at the Summerlin Dance Academy, under the direction of Jeremy Fullam. 
Stephanie carries with her a lifetime of training and dance experience in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop. While having completed her dance examinations through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Stephanie continues to study under the direction of many great performers and instructors through Master Classes and Workshops in Toronto, Kitchener, Buffalo, Las Vegas and New York City. Her genuine love for children and dance, along with her patience and warm-hearted nature makes her a favorite among students of all ages.

Heidemarie Hodge-Vilord

HEIDEMARIE HODGE-VILORD

Dancing since the age of three, Heidi's extensive training has certainly been an asset to her career in both performance and competition. Heidi has trained in many forms of dance including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. As a dancer, Heidi has received personal recognition for her work as both team member and soloist, receiving many title awards in Canada and across the border, including Runner-up to ADA 's Dancer of the Year. Many exciting opportunities have been awarded to Heidi, such as Broadway Dance Centre's dance scholarship in New York City , and half-time performer in Hawaii 's Aloha Bowl.
Heidi has trained with Toronto Dance Industry since the age of seven, completed her dance examinations through the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, and began teaching at the age of 18. Heidi continues to study all forms of dance annually with many of the greats in New York City at the Broadway Dance Centre and Steps on Broadway. Her students continue to receive many Overall, High Score, and Top Performance Awards. In May 2002, Heidi was named American Dance Awards' "Young Choreographer". In April 2005, Heidi was named “Top Teacher 2005” adding to her steadily growing list of choreography awards. Heidi's performance experience includes various shows and competitions at Toronto 's Canadian National Exhibition, and on board the M/S Jubilee with Carnival Cruise Lines, in “Broadway” and “ Hollywood ”, their award winning, Vegas-style productions shows.

Yuri Vrazhkin

YURI VRAZHKIN

Yuri is a graduate of the National Ballet School in Kiev, Ukraine, trained in performance and choreography. After graduation, Yuri performed as Soloist with the National Dance Company and spent several years touring Europe and North and South America with the world famous Virsky Dance Company. A recent tour has taken Yuri to Seoul, South Korea.
Since immigrating to Canada, Yuri has continued to perform, choreograph and teach. His recent choreographic work has included Canadian Ballet Theatre, "Gala of the 21st Century", produced by Samuel Tencer & Nadia Vasalova-Tencer; Walt Disney's movie, "Ice Princess" and Canadian Ballet Theatre "The Nutcracker" performed at Toronto's Winter Garden Theatre in December 2006.
We are thrilled to have Mr. Vrazhkin share his expertise with students of Toronto Dance Industry.

Suzanne Brilliant

SUZANNE BRILLIANT

Born and raised in Toronto , Suzanne has been dancing for fifteen years, instructing and choreographing for the last four. During her competing years, Suzanne has participated in many reputable competitions across Ontario , and the United States . Suzanne has received many prestigious awards, both as a soloist and a team dancer. Some awards include Top Mark Soloist (Dancefest), Runner-Up Dancer of the Year (5-6-7-8 Showtime), and many Scholarship awards with Rhythm Dance. Suzanne participates regularly in many Master Classes with the National Ballet of Canada, various workshops in Florida and Tennessee , in addition to her classes with the Foley family. Performance experience includes Sesame Street Live at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto , her appearance on Toronto 's Breakfast Television, Rising Star at Canadian National Exhibition, and concert performances for large, major corporation functions.
Suzanne continues to teach at various studios in the GTA, while pursuing her dance career and has donated many hours to teaching high school and elementary students.
Aside from dance studies, Suzanne enjoys participating in choreography classes, drama, and musical theater. Suzanne has also completed many Jazz and Tap examinations through the Canadian Dance Teacher's Association.

Alana Salvatore Photo

ALANA SALVATORE

Alana is delighted to be joining Toronto Dance Industry this year! She has spent the last 10 years dancing and singing professionally while living in New York City. As a competitive dancer, Alana performed in NYC, Lake Tahoe and Australia in her teen years.  It was at this time that she knew the performing world was for her!
Alana traveled to LA to train at The Edge, and started auditioning. Her  first job was as a dancer for Princess Cruises where she traveled through the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Alaska.  After her days at sea, Alana settled down in New York City and danced with the Radio City Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall for the next couple of years. Her dream came true when she got the role of "Anytime Annie" in the famous musical "42nd Street" and performed this role for the next couple of years on the first National Tour of the Broadway revival.  Alana was honored to take over the same role on Broadway and was on the Great White Way in her most favourite show.
Now back in Toronto Alana is excited to pursue her performance career in her home city, and get back to her teaching roots.  Alana is thrilled to share the commitment, passion and fun that comes with loving to dance.

JAMIE HODGINS

Originally from Ottawa, Ont. Jamie, known on stage as "Jammer," has been a refreshing force on the International hip hop scene, as a choreographer, instructor and performer for over six years. Having only begun dancing at the age of eighteen, Jamie's raw talent shot him into quick success amongst other professionals who have been training for decades. He's been a principal dancer with a number of different companies across Canada (Driven Dance Company, Culture Shock Canada etc.) and has taught on four continents (Hong Kong, Singapore, LA, Australia, UK).
On screen you can see Jamie in History Television's, "Death or Canada," Disney's "CampRock," CBC's "Breakout!," and in MuchMusic's Electro-Power Ranger commercial for "America's Best Dance Crew". His biggest accomplishment to date has been appearing as a triple threat finalist on CBC's hit tv series, "Triple Sensation," where he became known as "the urban animal" of the musical theatre world. His stage credits include Tommy: The Musical, Once Upon a Mattress, Midsummer Night's Dream, King John, and most recently the premiere of The Royal Wedding Masque for Toronto's PLAYING IN THE STREETS festival. In Australia, Jamie appeared as the street dance guru on the ABC's (Australia Broadcast Corporation) hit TV series "Strictly Dancing." As a choreographer, his award winning routines continue to blend contempoary flow with the exciting energy of intricate isolations.

MATTHEW VILORD

Matthew is pleased to be part of TDI and very excited to build a wonderful and lasting music program.  With a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC, Matt is no stranger to singing, performing and the world of theatre arts.  During University, he worked on shows including, 1940’s Radio Hour, Fie!Fie!Fi-Fi! and Hello Dolly as well as regional theatre productions of The FIX and Sounds of Sondheim.  Having an extensive choral and cantor background, Matt has had the opportunity to sing for the late Pope John Paul II in Italy and sing in over 25 churches throughout the US and Italy.  Some regional theatre productions include A Wonderful Life, As You Like It, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Fiddler On the Roof and The Jungle Book. World Premiers include Making of a Perfect Mate, The Man Who Would Be King  and  Anything For a Laff!  Off stage, he has helped train and prepare future doctors with the portrayal of bipolar, depressed and manic characters.  Matt has performed over 125 shows as the male principle in The Festival traveling to five different countries with Up With People and as the production singer with Carnival Cruise Lines aboard the M/S Jubilee.

 

CARLY HART

Carly began dancing with Toronto Dance Industry at the age of eight.  During her years with TDI, she won many awards both as a soloist and group member.  In September of 2007 Carly joined the faculty of the studio as an assistant teacher and has since been promoted for the 2008 Dance Season. Her attention to detail, gentle nature and great patience makes students of all ages comfortable in any class. During the smmer of 2008, Carly led the dance program at Camp Riverwood.  She graduated Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts where she spent three years in Performance Dance and was part of the Musical Theatre cast.  Carly continues to take dance classes throughout Toronto to brush up on the latest styles and techniques and currently attends UOIT where she’s pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Education.  Carly is excited to share her passion for dance and children this year at TDI.

 

Cristina Yuen

 

 

 

CRISTINA YUEN

Cristina began dancing at the age of five.  She is competitively trained in jazz, tap, ballet & pointe, lyrical, acro and hip hop for over 12 years.  She has won numerous titles and scholarships in Canada and the U.S. including 5678 Dancer of the Year, NATT Overall Junior Soloist, 1st Place Jazz – DMA Pageant, to name a few.  Cristina has completed her R.A.D. ballet exams from primary to elementary with honours.
Cristina has had the pleasure of working with well-known choreographer, Luther Brown from So You Think You Can Dance Canada, as well as Danny Davalos, owner of OIP Dance Centre.  She has done many TV and live performances including:  movie premier for How She Move, Hip Hop in the T-Dot, Disney movie Cow Belles, the Toronto Film Festival with Do Dat Entertainment, World Aids Day Gala with Anthony Sherwood Productions, Milk & Honey, FIFA Under 20 World Cup Opening Ceremonies, That’s So Raven Eye on Fashion, Children’s Wish Foundation Gala.
Cristina attends York University, pursuing a Fine Arts degree, majoring in Dance.  She is a faculty member of FRESH Dance Intensive, teaching workshops all over the GTA.  She has recently joined Magen Boys Entertainment who provide dancers for corporate events, Christmas parties, and children’s functions.  Cristina continues to audition, attend master classes, workshops & drop-in classes as much as possible to challenge herself and learn from other dancers and choreographers.
Cristina is very excited to be joining the faculty at Toronto Dance Industry and can’t wait to share her passion for dance with her students!

Adam Sergison

 

 

 

 

ADAM SERGISON

Adam’s professional dance career began while he was still in high school, with a role in the “Bella Dancerella Disney High School Musical 2” instructional DVD.   Shortly after graduating with honours, Adam landed a dancing role in Disney’s “Camp Rock” starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. With little time to catch his breath, he was hired by the Mirvish production of “We Will Rock You” and performed in their ensemble at the Canon Theatre in Toronto until the show moved to a smaller venue.  Adam performed as a singer/dancer in “The Best of Broadway in Concert” featured by Guelph’s River Run Centre. Shortly thereafter, Adam was honoured to join The Helix Dance Project under the direction of Linda Garneau for their production of “Rain – Life in Full Bloom” at Toronto’s Betty Oliphant Theatre.  One of Adam’s most exciting experiences occurred when he assisted Mia Michaels when she  choreographed the Top Ten opening number for “So You Think You Can Dance” Canada Season One.  
Despite being busy with performances, Adam loves to give back to the dance community and teaches and choreographs lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap and musical theatre at several studios and at workshops for The Travelling Stage.  On a volunteer basis, he has choreographed dance numbers for the last four musical theatre productions at Dunbarton High School.
Recognizing the importance and value of life-long learning, Adam continues to attend open classes, conventions and workshops in Toronto and in the United States.  Most recently, he attended and received scholarships from Coastal Dance Rage, The Pulse, Jump and NUVO where he was awarded Senior NU Artist. He also trains regularly in pilates with Olympic medalist Fanny Letourneau-Roussel and attends vocal lessons and acting workshops.  
Adam has developed a great perspective from his successful 13 years as a competitive dancer.  He won many overalls and was Teen Mr. Dance of Canadian Dance Masters of America (Chapter 38). At the National Conventions, he competed with accomplished dancers from all over North America and had two top five placements and was first runner-up as Teen. Adam has trained extensively in ballet (Vaganova), jazz, hip hop, lyrical and tap.  He has also taken classes in ballroom, modern and contemporary to expand his dance horizons and remain effective and current for today’s competitive dance students. 

Nadine Reguidel

 

 

 

 

NADINE REGUIDEL

Nadine Reguidel is a graduate from York University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and is a certified Instructor through Dance Masters of America Chapter #8. Her University education has given her intense dance training, as well as educated her in Dance Injuries, Injury Prevention and Kinesiology. Nadine is an accomplished Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer and Adjudicator.  Her creativity and passion for the arts is demonstrated through her teaching and love for dance. Nadine began dancing at the age of nine and had intense training in Jazz, Tap Ballet, Lyrical, Modern and Hip Hop. As a competitive dancer she competed across Canada and United States, receiving numerous awards and recognition for her achievements.  She has had the opportunity to train with renowned Teachers and Choreographers all over the world, including Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, Mandy Moore and Shane Sparks, which has broadened her teaching style and kept her choreography current and cutting edge.
Nadine has made her mark in the dance world with her Innovative and Outstanding Choreography. In the past 11 years of teaching Nadine has been a sought after Teacher, Choreographer and Adjudicator. She has received numerous Choreography Awards, Precision Awards, Judges Choice Awards and Overall High Scores for her Choreography, which has allowed Nadine to gain recognition for her exceptional technical training and unique style. Many of Nadine's students have been International Title Winners, Scholarship Recipients, National Championship Winners, and Regional High Score Winners as well as continued dance in Post Secondary Education.  
As a teacher, Nadine strives to achieve the best in each student promoting strong Technique, Poise, Self-Confidence, Commitment, Dedication, in a positive manner and inspiring students to have a love and passion for dance. Nadine is excited to be part of the Toronto Dance Industry Faculty and looks forward to teaching, inspiring and challenging all the dancers to new levels of excellence.
