Policies
The following has been outlined to assist you in understanding the policies of the studio, what is expected of you as a member, and what you can expect from us in return. Please help us keep your studio a great place to be!
- No gum in the facility.
- No horseplay anywhere in the studio.
- Food and drinks will be kept in the lunch room area only, and will not be brought into the change rooms and dance studios. Plastic bottles of water may be kept in the change rooms. Please be sure that the lid is tightly secured.
- Anyone found defacing the property in any way will be dismissed from the studio.
- No street shoes are allowed in any of the dance studios.
- The studio will administer a $35 charge to all cheques returned by the bank for whatever reason.
- The studio will administer a $25 charge to all late payments and postponed/held tuition cheques for whatever reason. Payments not submitted by studio closing on the due date will be considered late.
- A $25 administration fee will be charged to all refunds made throughout the dance season.
- Dance fees must be paid in full by the due dates or students will not be permitted in class. 2% per month will be charged on delinquent accounts. Fees are applied to accounts on the final day of each month.
- There is no refund for missed classes. Missed classes may be made up in a class of the same level or lower during the week immediately following the missed class. Please be sure to speak to one of the instructors. Students may choose a different discipline for a make-up class.
- The studio is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Halloween, Good Friday, and Victoria Day weekend. If your class happens to fall on one of these days, classes may be made-up as outlined above, during the week immediately following the holiday week.
- The studio is closed for two weeks during Winter Break and one week during Spring Break. Tuition does not cover these closures. There are 36 weeks of lessons throughout the entire dance season (39 weeks in total including holidays), each of the four terms covers nine weeks of classes.
- In the event of withdrawal from classes, the office must be notified one week prior to the start date of the next term. No refund will be made for the unused portion of a term payment; students are encouraged to complete the remainder of that term. All remaining cheques for the season will be returned. Sorry, we cannot mail your cheques, parents will be required to pick them up from the studio.
- Costumes are required for all classes performing in our annual recital with the exception to Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Costume payments are made in two installments, and are ordered in November.
For the Students:
- Please respect your studio; place all garbage in the trash cans, pick up your belongings, do not wear street shoes in the studios, keep your change rooms, kitchen and washrooms tidy.
- Washrooms will not be used as change rooms.
- Students will not hang on the barres or touch the mirrors.
- Students will not be allowed in any dance studio without a teacher present. This is for your own safety.
- Please call the studio and notify us if you are going to be absent. Please make every effort to be present at all of your classes. Recognition is given at season-end for perfect attendance. Make-up classes for absences do not qualify students for perfect attendance awards.
- The studio is not responsible for missed notices due to absence. Please check with the office for any missed notices.
- The studio is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles. Please leave your valuables at home.
- Spectators are not allowed in class.
- For safety reasons, no jewelry may be worn in class. Please leave all jewelry at home.
- It is important that students come to class dressed in the proper dance attire (see dress code) so body lines are clearly visible to the instructors. This is necessary for proper instruction. Students who do not come prepared for class in the proper uniform will be asked to leave.
- Students who do not wear one, neat secured bun for ballet class will be asked to leave. Girls must have their hair tied back, and off their face for all other classes.
For the Parents:
-
Please be sure to pick up students promptly after class.
- An appointment should be made with teachers if a conversation is expected to take more than a few minutes.
- Please make sure your child uses the washroom before class to ensure they do not lose valuable class time.
- Please make every effort to have your children to class on time. We understand that everyone has a schedule, please respect ours.
- Provided students are not being distracted, parents are invited to view classes through the observation windows.
- It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the office is informed of any change in address, telephone number and/or other contact information in the event of an emergency. OHIP numbers should be indicated on your registration form, along with any medical conditions and treatments that apply to your child.
- Please be sure the office has your most recent email address on file. The studio email is an outgoing service only for reminders and updates. All messages and enquiries must be made through the studio office in person or by telephone (416) 285-4470.
