Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre

Dena Maleganovski has been dancing since the age of three and has extensive training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and Lyrical. As a dancer, Dena competed in Canada and the US as well as performing for the Sick Kids Telethon, Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies, AM640 Canadian Music Artist Tour, and many corporate events.

Dena holds a degree in Physical and Health Education (BPHE), an honours degree in Education (BscEd), certification with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT), and an associate diploma with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD). She teaches within the TDSB encouraging students to express themselves through the arts, and keep physically active.

Dena’s choreography has won her students countless awards at regional and national level competitions. Her attention to fundamentals and persistence to help dancers practice technique has proven successful in her many years of teaching. In 2010 Dena was awarded the Fever Award at the Fever International Dance Competition for her dedication and commitment to training young dancers.

When she’s not dancing, Dena enjoys playing soccer and keeping active!
