Hip-Hop & Jazz

Ryan began dancing at the age of four and has competed internationally in multiple dance disciplines for over ten years. She is professionally trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern and Hip Hop and spent two years in Mexico, working in resorts as a Choreographer and Performer. While in Mexico she gained experience in Latin Dance, including Salsa, Banda, Merengue and Mexican Folkloric.

Ryan has had the pleasure of performing with Busta Rhymes, Akon and Classified as well as choreographing for the Toronto Argos Half Time show, Toronto Raiders Dance Team, Chinese Lantern Festival and Peter Jackson and Royce Da 5’9’s music video ‘Paper Boy’. Other professional appearances include TSN Sports’ Celebrity Canadian Special Olympics Fundraiser; Class Act Dinner Theatre; Dance Ontario Dance Festival and Urban Groove (BPM TV). Locally, other work includes having been a member of the Toronto Rock Dance Team (2004), J-Cru Dance Team (Toronto Blue Jays 2001/2002), Q107 Phantasy Girl (Toronto Phantoms) Dance Team (2001/2002), two years as a member of the Honey Kats Dance Company (Dance Kraze Productions) and is a past member of Thrive! Entertainment.

In addition to her stage work, Ryan has appeared in music videos, conducted guest workshops and has been on staff at a number of Greater Toronto area dance studios, where she has taught and choreographed for the competitive teams and recreational classes. She has had much success as a teacher, having received several “Judge’s Outstanding Choreography” awards, as well as choreographing and teaching students who have won elite titles and scholarships. Her continued involvement in performance and training ensures her choreography reflects the latest dance trends, while her substantial syllabus training and accreditation ensures a sound basis in technique training for her students.

Ryan is a Member of the Royal Academy of Dance, having successfully completed her intermediate ballet examination and is a certified Associate Teacher, Stage Division- Jazz and Tap, with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. She was the founding Director and Choreographer of “Sass Entertainment,” a dynamic and highly energetic Toronto based company of professionally trained and accredited dancers.

Ryan expanded her education and expertise to include Recording Arts Management and graduated from the industry renowned Harris Institute in October 2008. She has worked with many Canadian music and entertainment artists such as Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen.
